1. The Department of Education is one of the oldest departments in the university, which has been cultivating teachers in the central region since its establishment.
2. The percentage of passing teacher examination is 100% in 2021 and 90% in 2022.

Department of Special Education (with MA)

1. The goals of the department are:

   (1) preparing high quality special education teachers in preschools and primary schools.

   (2) offering programs for preparing professional personnel in special education.

   (3) developing professional educators in assistive technology of special education.

2. The first graduate institute combining special education and assistive technology, developing assistive devices and teaching materials for students with special learning needs.

Master Program of Teaching Profession

1. The NCTU Master Program of Professional Teacher is Taiwan’s first and only master’s program to provide students with government-sponsored scholarships.
2. Starting from academic year 2015, we began to cultivate indigenous teachers with language teaching abilities.
3. We have established a specialized class for indigenous peoples since academic year 2020, which focuses on cultivating teachers from 9 tribes, including the Amis, Atayal, Brunun, Paiwan, Taroko, Sediq, Saisiyat, Tsou, and Thao.

1. The department is the training base for Canoeing in central Taiwan.
2. Tchouk Ball Game Team represented Taiwan to Malaysia in completion.
3. In recent two years, our students have good achievements in folk sports, tennis, table tennis and other contests.

Department of Early Childhood Education (with MA)

1. The department is the only one in Taiwan that combines both early childhood education and early intervention specialties.
2. Cultivating early childhood education professionals with both professional knowledge and practical skills.
3. The student-oriented activity "Dou Dou Theater" has gained high popularity and reputation in central Taiwan.

Graduate Institute of Educational Information and Measurement (with MA/PhD)

1. The Graduate Institute of Educational Information and Measurement (GIEIM) is not only the first academic research institute concerning educational measurement in Taiwan, but also in Asia, and pioneers the cultivation of educational measurement researchers.
2. We developed the Taiwan Adaptive Learning Platform (TALP) based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can provide students with personalized learning paths and corresponding supplementary teaching materials. It also enables teachers to grasp students' learning needs timely.
3. Since 2015, a joint research center has been established by our university, University of Memphis in the United States, Graz University of Technology in Austria, and Huazhong Normal University in mainland China. The center is primarily focused on the research topics of Advanced Learning Theories, Technologies and Applications, and Impacts (ALTTAI).

Department of Regional and Social Development (with MA)

1. The Department of Regional and Social Development highlights its academic uniqueness and carves a niche for itself in the academic landscape by strategically merging two main axes—"region" and "development".
2. We seeks to instill in students a broad perspective and open-mindedness towards local, regional, and global issues.

Department of Taiwanese Languages and Literature (with MA)

1. This department was established as the first professional department in Taiwan for the cultivation of Taiwanese language teachers, and it is also the only department in the whole school that offers intermediate level courses.
2. All classes are conducted in Taiwanese, providing Taiwanese language education, literature and culture courses; besides, history and geography, folklore and drama courses are offered to students to learn.

Department of Language and Literacy Education (with MA/PhD)

1. The department of Language and Literacy Education focuses on cultivating talents in Mandarin Chinese language and literacy education, offering a fully developed undergraduate, master's, and PhD program. And we have added a Master's Program in Teaching Chinese from the academic year 101, aimed at nurturing talents in Mandarin Chinese teaching.
2. We actively develop special features including language teaching (listening, speaking, reading, writing, and composition), calligraphy, and Classics-reciting Education in our department.

1. We provide international externships for students to study at various educational institutions abroad.
2. We offer a joint degree program in collaboration with the University of Indianapolis in the United States.

1. The Department focuses on the development of "Children and Youth Counseling and Guidance " and "Workplace Mental Health Promotion".

1. The department has signed a dual-degree program with Aioi University in Japan, allowing students of our department to study at both universities and obtain degrees from both institutions within the designated period of study.
2. Students utilize their winter and summer vacations to engage in music education and local educational counseling in remote areas, putting their expertise into practice and integrating theory with application.
3. Alumnus Zeng Daoxiong is an internationally acclaimed conductor.

Department of Fine Arts (with MA)

1. Translation: The first art education institution in Taiwan.
2. Alumnus Zhuang Jihuan is a famous graphic designer.

Department of Mathematics Education (with MS)

1. This department is the only one department in Taiwan named used "mathematics education".
2. The goal of this department is to cultivate elementary school teachers mastered in the subject of mathematics. The major foci of the courses offered are mathematics course design and development, issues on mathematics education, and teaching strategies planning. Besides, integrating information technology into mathematics instruction is another important aspect of this department.

Department of Computer Science (with MS)

1. The Program has been accredited by the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) since 2009.
2. The faculties specialize in various fields, including computer systems, networking and software engineering (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent robots, etc.). Additionally, students receive good grades and awards in international competitions in categories such as web technology and cloud computing.

Department of Digital Content and Technology (with MS)

1. The faculty specializes in various areas, including artificial intelligence, multimedia game design, digital learning, augmented reality system design, information education, and technology art.
2. Establish the “Research Center of Educational Information and Innovation” for conducting research and providing services related to website system development and digital content development, including VR/AR, STEAM curriculum development, and interactive teaching tool design.

1. The Program contributes to cultivating interdisciplinary scientific and educational professionals through the integration of knowledge and skills in science, science education and environmental education.
2. The faculty members specialize in areas of science philosophy, science education, environmental chemistry, environmental ethics, green energy technology, etc. Besides, they have great achievements in collaborative projects with the public and industrial sectors.

1. The department of International Business cooperate with Indianapolis University for the duel degree.
2. The number for being as exchange students is the top of NTCU.
