10 Pre-Service Teachers Competed an Overseas Internship Program in Public Elementary Schools in Japan


        English Department associate professor Yueh-Nu Hung, also the PI of the Bilingual Education Research Center at NTCU, led ten pre-service teachers on an overseas education visit to Kobe and Asahikawa in Japan. During the 18 days of visit from June 16th to July 3rd, the group visited Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, Kobe Municipal Higashimachi Elementary School, Kobe Municipal Kande Elementary School, Kobe Municipal Kande Junior High School, Hokkaido University of Education Asahikawa Campus, and Hokkaido University of Education Asahikawa Campus Elementary School. The school visits, classroom observations, and English teaching demonstrations helped these pre-service teachers develop teaching professional competencies and international and intercultural experiences.
