NTCU Makes Significant Progress in the Global Views Monthly 2026 Best Universities Rankings: Ranked 43rd, 19th in Academic Achievement, Demonstrating Strong Performance in Smart Learning and Innovative Sustainability

Recently, Global Views Monthly released the “2026 Taiwan Best Universities Rankings.” NTCU has achieved another outstanding result, ranking 43rd overall among 125 universities, marking a significant improvement of four places compared to last year. Subcategory rankings are equally impressive, including 23rd among public universities (2), 12th among humanities and social sciences universities (3), and 5th nationwide in the small and medium-sized university category (1), and maintaining its 9th-place ranking in the “Medium-Budget Universities” category.

In terms of evaluation indicators, NTCU showed an upward trend across all five dimensions this year: “academic performance,” “financial strength,” “social reputation,” “teaching capacity,” and “degree of internationalization.” In particular, academic performance rose to 19th nationwide (6). Under the continued strengthening of institutional governance and IR-based data-informed decision-making, both financial strength and social reputation improved significantly by 12 places compared to last year, while teaching capacity and internationalization also increased by 4 and 2 places respectively, demonstrating balanced and robust development momentum. These strong results reflect NTCU’s recent efforts to implement its smart learning-oriented institutional development strategy, progressively integrating AI into teaching, research, and institutional governance, thereby continuously enhancing overall educational quality and competitiveness. It demonstrates that NTCU’s “Intelligent, Interdisciplinary, and forward-looking” vision has been widely recognized.

President Po-Chen Kuo stated that NTCU's advancement in this year's Global Views Monthly rankings is the result of the collective efforts of the University's faculty, staff, and students. Looking ahead, NTCU will continue to uphold its vision of "Building on a Century of Teacher Education to Shape the University of the Future," actively supporting Taiwan's major national AI education initiatives while striving to become a leading university distinguished by smart interdisciplinary innovation, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility. The University remains committed to developing into a sustainable institution that integrates smart learning, innovative research, and social engagement, fulfilling its mission as an innovative and sustainable teacher education university with smart learning at its core.
