National Taichung University of Education (NTCU) and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) have officially signed a cooperation agreement, enabling complementarity between the fields of art and education.


Our school actively promotes interdisciplinary cooperation.Following the signing of MOUs with institutions such as the National Museum of Natural science,the National Library of Public Information,and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology,President Bor-Chen Kuo led senior administratives and academic officials(Vice Presidents Gwo-Jen Huang and Feng-Rung Hu) to visit the NTMOFA.President Kuo and the NTMOFA Director Kuang-Yi Chen signed the cooperation agreement aiming to establish a long-term partnership through the integration of professional resources from both sides.

 

Our school and the NTMOFA officially signed a cooperation agreement on April 17th.This collaboration aims to cultivate art education professional,initiate digital art education direction, establish aesthetic environment for civic life, actively promote the spread of aesthetic learning, and open up new approaches to art education and aesthetic life in Taiwan. This partnership will enhance exhibition exchanges, educational activities, research, and collections, fostering a rich environment for student education and interdisciplinary exploration in humanities, aesthetics, and other fields. This collaboration is crucial for creating a shared sense of beauty and building a high-quality living and learning environment.

 

President Bor-Chen Kuo expressed that the partnership with the museum is a step towards advancing national aesthetic education and expanding the school's social service in digital education. He emphasized the importance of integrating art education into the curriculum and enhancing students' aesthetic literacy. The collaboration will enhance the integration of arts and technology in education and develop forward-thinking talents in aesthetic education.

 

Director Kuang-Yi Chen of the NTMOFA stated that the collaboration with our school is an honor given the rich history and artistry of both institutions. The museum looks forward to substantial collaborations with departments such as the College of Science, College of Education, and College of Management to create fruitful partnerships and innovative achievements in the realms of art and education.

 

Dean Chin-Hsien Lin of the College of Humanities and a distinguished professor in the Department of Fine Arts emphasized that the collaboration between the two institutions will expand the depth and breadth of art education missions at our school. The close proximity of the institutions will facilitate joint development of high-quality activities, exhibitions, and integrated curriculum, enhancing student engagement and the synergy between art, educational expertise, and research.

 

Following the meeting, our school provided a guided tour of the Lin Chih-Chu Memorial Hall to the museum partners. The Lin Lin Chih-Chu Memorial Hall, renovated and repurposed by our school in 2015, showcases replicas of Lin Lin Chih-Chu's paintings, antique furniture, acrylic paints, and letters, depicting the life of the pioneer of acrylic painting in Taiwan. The museum highlighted the display of Lin Chih-Chu's painting "Bathing in the Morning" and welcomed visitors to see the original artwork.

 

The collaboration between the two institutions aligns with the Ministry of Education's third-phase aesthetic education mid-to-long-term plan (from the year 113 to 117) with the concept "Aesthetics are Life: From Early Enlightenment, Rooted in Life, Local and International, Sustainable Practice." This partnership in art teacher education, civic life aesthetics, digital art education, and aesthetic learning diffusion signifies a significant step forward for art education and aesthetic life in Taiwan.
